A note about the blog's name: Sirius is our Newfoundland dog. She is named after the dog star which can be found in Orion's belt. In the Harry Potter series, Harry's godfather, Sirius Black is an animagus; he turns into a big black dog. Do you suppose J.K. Rowling knew about the dog star? I bet she did.
